About Tea Lili
Hi I’m Izzy, founder of Tea Lili ☺︎
I created Tea Lili to share Japanese tea in the UK by creating tea experiences that combine British and Japanese tea culture with intentionally selected teas and tea ware, based on a passion for the leaves, and real experience working in the tea fields of Japan.
Tea Lili is inspired by the beautiful tea moments that a cup of tea can create and an appreciation for the journey that the tea leaves have taken to fill your cup this moment. In Japanese tea ceremony, the phrase ‘ichi-go ichi-e’ highlights how each moment and encounter is unique and can never be replicated, holding a beauty to be appreciated.

With a close connection to Japan over the past seven years, I embarked on a tea quest in Spring 2025. I spent three months on an internship immersed in the tea fields of Wazuka at Obubu Tea Farms, after which I became a certified Ambassador. Through the generous guidance of the farmers, the local community, and the tea leaves themselves, I returned bursting with stories from the world of tea to share, from history, to farming and production, current trends and brewing methods. The Tea Lili collection is intentionally small. Each tea is personally selected and sourced through real, lived connections with the farms and farmers in Japan. As I continue my quest and build new connections, you will see this collection develop ~ come and join the story!
